I used the decoupage image from the country companions range which we used at craft club last week and the sentiment from the same range.
I added 2 chiffon ribbons from my stash

ferrari

have started decoupaging a lot again lately
so thats how I made this ferrari card, decoupage
I even added the number plate with the initials and age of the recipitant
very simply done just matting and layering the image, the sentiment and the numbers cut out on cricut (george cartridge)
and used a bit of card candy and thread
thats it very very simple card but I dont think it needs much else

I am going to use it for the challenges at
charisma cards - magic numbers
delightful sketches - lets celebrate

Valentines

heres a nice simple card I made on Sunday
thought I should get my craft CDs out and use them as I have so many and forget about them!

I firstly used the sentiment AND ITS FREE!! from  Daisy Doodles
and then i layered this onto an image from JS ATC assistant in red
then decoupaged the image 3 times and then layered onto red and then black card
the mulberry paper is actually faux mulberry so much easier to work with
I added some wired ribbon so the bow was more 'shapable'
and finally used hearts cut at random shapes and sizes on the cricut to embellish

thanks for looking

challenges...
lexis creations - valentine
pollycraft - black white and one other colour
a spoonful of sugar - valentines

golf

oooh cd again!
I used cc mens hobbies and decoupaged the image
then cut ovals out on my cricut and the sentiment box also cut on the cricut
tried several times to emboss a sentiment but gave up and used a peel off in the end
finally added some card candy
I am going to use this for the challenges at
ccc - male
trimmies - sport

another quickie

I bought this paper pack from papermania 'birdsong'
its stunning but havent really got a clue what to do with it, and of course, my paper fettish wont let me cut into it soo decided after seeing a sample in the crafty bunch just to embellish the paper itself
Im not sure the sentiment goes though, might have to change that at some point
I used stickles to start with on the middle of the flowers and then went back to add some tiny pearls
then added a big thick chiffon ribbon and thats it, didnt want to keep messing with it!!

am going to use it for the challenge at
papertake weekly - ribbons and pearls

craftwork cards

On Tuesday at craft club we used craftwork cards stock
I have looked at this a few times and wasnt sure it was my 'cup of tea'
although on the night I did enjoy the 'challenge' and liked my creations

so I used backing paper as my main focus for this one, cut the edge off a 6x6 card with a scalloped cutter, then used a slice of the paper to put down the inside edge
I then cut my paper so it was slightly smaller than the card, I layered my sentiment and when I got home cut my 'shape' on the cricut and layered it
I then shredded some ribbon and tied around the shape before sticking down with 3d squares
I even added a mini pearl
finally I added some card candy
simple card!

I will use it for challenges at
pollycraft - sweet pastel colours
papertake weekly - ribbon and pearl
CCC - monochrome

thanks for looking xx

suits you!!

I had some paper left over from my craft class a while back, wasnt much of this sheet left but decided I should use it!
saw a card a while back that was like a mans tuxedo so thought I would try but didnt have the dimensions so had to just make it up as I went along
took a few trianlgles of the black card to make it look like the collar and then a square and rectangle to mimic a pocket, then I used peel offs to edge them
I used the paper I had left to make a shirt and hankercheif and then a brad as a pocket

turned out better than I expected to be honest!!

want to use this for the challenges at
papercutz - your choice

for Nick

heres a really simple easy card
I struggle with mens cards all the time, and needed something quick
so found an image on google and mounted it, then some paper from my stash as backingpaper, layered that too onto red card and finally a sentiment printed from my pc onto the same red card and voila
and funnily enough he thought it was wonderful!!!

just going to quickly enter this to the challenge at creative card crew for their 'for men' challenge!!

thanks for looking

house mouse

I have been meaning to use some house mouse stamped images for ages but for some reason just didn't get around to it, so decided it was high time I did!
I even used watercolour pencils for this image - again something I have neglected for ages and am quite pleased with the result so I really should make a concious decision to use them more

I layered the image onto pink card and then onto a frame cut on the cricut
not entirely sure where the tiny stamped cupcakes are from but found them in my stash lurking and had to use them too
so quite a productive card as its made me use up some stash I had forgotten about!

I am going to use this card for the following challenges
moving along with the times - dreams come true
stamp challenges - anything goes

different easel shape

I have been playing around on the cricut again and made a different shaped easel card again
I really like this shape as it's so easy but really pretty

I have used a lili of the valley image and just simply layered the frame shape with purple card, then added some handmade paper flowers with (although its not very clear) glittery brads to just brighten them up a bit, thats it simples!!!

I want to use the card for the challenges at
delightful sketches - easel card
craft your days away - anything goes
CES - no designer papers
the crafty pad - something new
creative cottage - something new

and that my dears is that!!

cookie bag (alas an empty one!)

The challenge this week at Daisy Doodles is
ANYTHING GOES!!!
so gives me the chance to get messy (not my thing normally!) and have a good old play!

below is how I made my DT sample

first of all stamp and cut out 5 flowers
I have used these digi flowers from the flower pack at Daisy Doodles
which has 14 images for just $5
stamped onto red card

next I used distress inks to 'distress' the flowers although as I used worn lipstick distress ink its not so clear on the photograph
then I spritzed my flowers first with pink taffy glimmer mist and made up a spritz containing water, barn door distress ink and some cosmic shimmer powder then squirted lots of this onto the flowers.  At this stage they are really wet so need to handle with care

whilst waiting for them to dry slightly I embossed the top of a gold coloured brad, although didnt do a tutorial for that as I forgot (will do that another day)

whilst the flowers are still damp layer them up and hold together with a brad and then you can scrunch up the petals to how you want them.
I then squirted again with the sprays.

leave to dry (or if you are as impatient as me you could use a heat gun to help it along)

I used on my gift bag which one day I will either bake cookies or put sweeties into

The bag I made after seeing a demo by Nicki at the Crafty Bunch and also its in issue 25 of docrafts creativity magazine (page 39)

maybe one day I will get around to taking photographs along the way of my making other things!!

thanks for looking
and dont forget to join in with the challenge at Daisy Doodles - and USE ONE OF THE IMAGES FROM THE STORE (THERE ARE FREEBIES TOO)

Noahs Ark

Ages and Ages ago I had a magazine (craft one but not sure which) with some free nitwit papers and images in it, and found them in my stash again, thought it was about time to use it!!! I did buy some of their stuff before Christmas and didnt even get around to using it in the end but there's always next year, think I will be buying more from their site as I just lurve it!!!

so decoupaged noahs ark and used the backing paper that looks like its quilted
was just so simple yet so effective!!!

I want to use this for the challenges at...

ces - all creatures great and small
charisma cardz - birthdays/celebrations

Cupcake Milk Carton

I promised myself that it wasn't going to be a year of just making cards! soo have started with a box!! I used my cricut to cut a 'milk carton' shaped box

I was really brave and cut into some 12x12 double sided paper from Kaiser scrapbook which I have had for ages but just couldnt be brave enough to cut into!
you can see the inside pattern as that is the pattern on the tag which is die cut and tied on with ribbon via a hole made with the cropodile

The cupcake is a digi stamp from daisy doodles, and I have coloured that with my promarkers, finally adding some seed beeds
There is another identical cupcake on the back, and I shall use the box to put a cupcake inside

I am now starting doing some blog challenges again as I havent been doing any for ages, so am going to use this box for the challenges at....

craft your days away - anything goes
CCC - new years resolutions
cute card Thursday - out with the old
moving along with the times - old and new stash (digi and paper)
crafty catz - food and drink
stamp challenges - use a digi
cupcake craft challenges - something new
crafty cardmakers - use read and a die cut
pollycraft - new things
craft your passion - tie on a ribbon

to start off the new year!

It's the first challenge of the New Year over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges
the challenge is
PAST OR PRESENT
which is to use a challenge from the past or a new one
but dont forget to use your image from
there are some fantastic digis for all occasions and even some beautiful digi papers too

I have been to craft club during the festive period, and we were using papermania capsule collection
I just didnt want to use the paper (my problem which I am hoping to get over this year of cutting paper!) but I was brave but as its so pretty wanted it to be the focus of the card.  I used some co-ordinating ribbon and then I shredded some to use as an embellishment and fastened it to the ribbon using a brad from the collection, I also felt I HAD to use some of the teeny tiny buttons too but now wish I hadn't!

I then made my own sentiment on the computer and  when I got home coloured my floral cross from DD with Sakura pens and paintbrush and made into a tag

finally I added a lovely sentiment on the Greeting Card Factory Programme and thats it!!

thanks for looking
and dont forget to go and see whats in store at DD
